5 Simple And Effective Ways On How To Have An Abundance Mindset

You’re going to find my simple ways on how to have an abundance mindset! They are all things that have helped me find my dream life and truly live a life I love. In fall 2020 I had noticed that I was snappy, easily irritated, not feeling fulfilled and just feeling blah about life. Life was fine, but it was just that, fine. It was in those days that I realized something needed to change. I wanted my relationships to be happier, for my days to feel fuller and find that sense of fulfillment I had been yearning for years. No more letting my days pass me by, not feeling passionate about every day!

My journey to abundance started when I more or less fell into a mediumship course, through Taylor with Awaken. That course was only the start of an incredible transformation to an abundant mindset! It was a couple months of reflection and lots of inner work. But now, I’m my best self and my days feel overflowing in all aspects. So I’m going to share some of the things that have brought me the life I’m so incredibly passionate about!

5 ways on how to have an abundance mindset (they are best used all together!):

I love the quote, “The mind is everything. What you think, you become.” So essentially, an abundance mindset is all yours if we can just change your mindset. A mindset that has been shaped from when you were a baby, habits and beliefs that have been a part of you for so long. After living with those habits and beliefs for much of your life, it all just becomes so natural. It becomes who you are. But don’t let that intimidate you! Let that empower you to change, let it bring awareness.

1. MEDITATION:

Meditation can be used for many different purposes. It’s a great way to clear the mind and bring more awareness in all things. You don’t exactly have to be a master in meditation, so don’t let it intimidate you! The practice of meditation can actually allow us to change our brain, body and state of being. It allows us to move beyond our analytical mind so we can access our subconscious mind. Accessing our subconscious mind is so important as that is where all our bad behavior and habits reside.

The purpose of this practice is to help you find an abundance mindset, which will require you to reflect on two things; “what would you envision your best self being like?” Or better yet, “what would you envision your best life being like?” When thinking about either of those things or both, remove all limitations. Envision as though there are no illnesses, no beliefs in your way, no people in your way and finances aren’t an issue. Truly envision with no limits! Write down the things you envision and keep those handy for each meditation.

Now for the actual practice of meditation and mechanics!
  • Be sure to find a comfortable space, somewhere you won’t be interrupted for the duration of your meditation. One place you shouldn’t use is your bedroom, your mind is programmed that space is used for sleep! Let it be a place that represents growth, regeneration and is easily accessible.
  • Allow 20 minutes for meditation, it sounds long but you’ll be surprised how quick time passes you by. You can set a reminder/timer a couple minutes before you want to be done so you can slowly come out of meditation.
  • As for when to meditate, just pick a time that works for you! For me, I like mornings, it helps me set the intention for what I want out of the day and such a great start.
  • Be sure to sit up with a straight back.
  • Remove any distractions from the external world, so shut off cellphones and computers. You can play relaxing music if it can help you concentrate.

Read your notes on what you envision for yourself before going into the meditation. Close your eyes (or use a blindfold) and follow some tips I mentioned above. It’s natural for our minds to wander about things going on in our lives or things you feel the need to do. Acknowledge them and try to move past them, get into the creative state. Just try your best to focus on the present moment and relax. It can take practice and that is OK! It’s just a mater of learning a new skill, be patient and be kind to yourself. Encourage yourself to feel determined, excited, flexible and inspired. It helps you open up to the divine!

2. GRATITUDE

Gratitude is a high frequency emotion and an easier emotion to bring into your day to day living. This was the second thing I incorporated into my life after I understood better what it was I envisioned for myself. I wanted to be someone who lived in gratitude each and every day. Negative emotions attract negative things, gratitude is a way to change that. Here are some ways to incorporate gratitude into your every day.

  • Write down and journal five things you are grateful for, every day. They don’t have to be big things either! Maybe it’s just the roof over your head, or something that happened to you.
  • When you notice you’re in a bad mood or talking negative, think of three to five things you’re grateful for. It releases a chemical in your brain that will help more or less reset!

With anything gratitude, be sure to sit in those moments of gratitude. Relive that experience, let yourself feel all the feels when thinking about whatever it is you’re grateful for!

3. KNOW ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE

Society and life trains us to think and feel a certain way about things. One of them being that there are certain expectations after you graduate high school for example. Things like going to get secondary education, getting a full time job, earning money, having a family ect. All of those things come down to money, if we don’t have enough money it puts limitations on basically everything. Which then creates a scarcity mindset, which then creates limitations we put on ourselves. All creating a vicious cycle we find ourselves in! The cycle that brought you here.

I’m here to tell you, anything is possible. It is a matter of changing that mindset to know there are infinite possibilities in this life. We get so busy focusing on one thing that so many other possibilities go unnoticed and missed. Meditation will also help you with this, it will help you expand to what is possible rather then focusing on what isn’t.

4. JOURNAL

This one might go without saying since I’ve mentioned writing things down a couple times now! But none the less, journaling has been an important part of my journey to having an abundance mindset. It allows be to release things that happened through the day or help me find clarity in things I feel lost in. It’s such a great tool to use for grounding. It also helps bring awareness to actions and feelings.

  • Journal at least once a day, whenever works best for you
  • Be sure to include what I mentioned above in your journal. What you envision your best self being like, or your best life. And your gratitude entries! As for what else to write about, write whatever you feel. It doesn’t have to be long either!

5. AWARENESS

This one aligns well with all the ones mentioned above, but it is so important that I felt it needed it’s own spot. After envisioning what your best self and/or best life looks like, it helps bring awareness to things you’re doing that don’t align with what you’re envisioning. You’ll actually catch yourself mid sentence or mid action to things you’re old self would have done. And that is OK! Don’t beat yourself up over it, give yourself grace. Sit with it, try to understand why you reacted, did what you did or said what you did. The better you understand the why, the easier it is to move forward and accept.

  • Catch yourself in the moment of doing something that doesn’t align with who you want to be. Sit with it, try to understand why you reacted, did what you did or said what you did. Don’t beat yourself up over it, give yourself grace. The better you understand the why, the easier it is to move forward and accept.
  • Treat others with no judgement. If there is a disagreement, find a win-win situation!
  • What kind of people are hanging around with? Are they negative people or positive people? Be aware of the energy you’re taking on from them and consider distancing yourself from those negative people.

Once you are sitting in a place of awareness, it’s the last pieces of the puzzle to finding an abundance mindset!

End result?

Learning how to have an abundance mindset isn’t something that happens overnight, it does take mindful work every day. But you will be surprised how quick you do notice small changes along the way! The first four of these I would suggest practicing for four weeks. You will start to see lots of those things become second nature.
