Two years ago, I knelt down beside my toddler duri

Two years ago, I knelt down beside my toddler during a tantrum.

Not to coddle her.
But to co-regulate.

I placed a hand on my chest, focused on my breath, and chose presence over control.

And one of the comments I got recently?

“This is why the world’s a mess. We’ll have to deal with your broken child.”

Here’s what I wish she knew:
The world won’t have to “deal” with her.
Because she’ll know how to deal with herself.
She won’t suppress her feelings or weaponize them.
She’ll feel them, move through them, and come out stronger on the other side.
That’s not softness.
That’s strength.
Today, I watch my daughter regulate.

My husband came to me the other day saying how she supported him when he shared he was feeling anxious. Just how I support her.

I asked "were you feeling anxious after?" He said "nope"

I see her supporting others when she's got the space

I watch her return to herself with more grace than most adults I know.

She’s not fragile. She’s free.

And it started with a single moment I chose to do something different.

This is the ripple of Emotional Alchemy.

This is how we break the cycle.

This is how we rewrite the tension in real time.

This is how we turn disconnection into connection.

He had just spent three nights at home.

Alone. Rested. Quiet.

I had solo-parented. Slept like garbage. Managed two dogs.

And I was like... you want more time to yourself?

At first, I tried to brush it off.

But this quiet wave of frustration started to rise.

The kind that makes you feel a little invisible. A little resentful.

Like, why aren’t you choosing us?

I mean, I'm all for wanting our time apart so I'm questioning my thinking any of this

But this also isn't sitting well

Does this align with this moment or is this from another time?

Or maybe what's happening isn't aligned with what I want to experience?

So I play back my words

As I truly sink into them, I hear it

I felt this disappointment he wanted to spend time outside of our family since we've been apart.. I was craving some time together to reconnect

But also, three days in close proximity with my little and my dogs had me craving some time to decompress... I was craving time to myself to decompress

So I said..

"I'm feeling disappointed and frustrated. I'm realizing I'm needing these things and I'm also seeing where I could maybe communicate that better. I'm not sure I really understood until now. But next time we're away for a couple days, in the first day or two, I'd really appreciate an hour or two to myself to decompress. I'd also really love in the first day or two of being home for us to really soak in family time so we can reconnect. I can feel Haedyn missing her dad whenever we're away, she gets more emotional and asks for you more. And truthfully, I do too!"

Instead of a moment of disconnect… it became a moment of real connection.

No blame. No resentment. Just honesty that created clarity.

For so long, I didn’t even know moments like this were possible. Where we both walk away happy, feeling understood.

But now? They are.

Because I’ve learned how to pause, listen to myself first, and speak from the version of me that’s rooted in truth—not spiraling from emotions and responding with reactivity.

Where what I say doesn’t just express emotion—it creates connection.

That’s the power of Emotional Alchemy. And we start Apr 27.

I had just got home and wrote that journal entry..

I had just got home and wrote that journal entry.. unsure what to do with it.

So I started cooking.

Haedyn was emotional and we were at odds - it hit me and I paused.

Her behavior wasn’t the problem, it was the mirror.

The mirror of the disconnection she had felt from me all day. And my behavior? A mirror of the disconnection I was feeling from myself.

I put the onion down, walked over to her, opened my arms, picked her up, turned on our favorite song and we danced.

I could feel all the tension just begin to melt away and feel myself drop into that moment with her

I felt like me again

It was a "WTF just happened" moment

What I'm realizing was, I was embodying what I had experienced my whole life

I was once in her shoes, experiencing that disconnect and feeling lost because of it

And in that simple instant of picking her up, seeing her behavior as a result of the disconnection that deep down I felt

It was almost like I wasn't just picking her up, I was picking up the little me who had once felt that too and creating connection where there once hadn't been any

Showing myself the way

Something rewrote itself

It brought me to the trampoline to jump with her while supper finished cooking

It brought more laughter and dancing

My night felt like mine again

These are the moments that Emotional Alchemy was created for.

A place to plug into when emotions hit hard,
so you can rewrite the tension in real time.

Where emotional chaos becomes an opening—not a collapse.

Where conflict and ruptures become an opportunity to create deeper more meaningful connections.

Not because life stops lifing…

But because you know how to support yourself when it does. Even while it’s still happening.

And I realized - this wasn't all just mine, but a collective. The women feeling called to this circle and what they're walking through, in some capacity.

Why am I up here making a healthy breakfast while everyone else watches TV?

I didn’t say anything at first. I just stewed.
But when my daughter went to walk away after eating, something snapped and I said—

“I’ve spent all morning alone making breakfast for everyone while you’ve sat watching TV. I want to spend time together. I want to go outside.”

And that’s when I heard it. The real truth

It wasn’t about breakfast

It wasn’t even about the movie

It was about how tired I am of doing it all

Of carrying the weight

The moments I feel like I’m picking up what someone else dropped

The times I notice their absence, their shortfall—and some part of me kicks into overdrive to fill the space. I’ve done that my whole life

Because deep down, there’s been this thinking that..

If I don’t hold it all together… I'll be left. I’ll be alone

So I overcompensate. I do more

And I feel resentful as hell while doing it

But here’s what hit me..

The aloneness I've felt, the anger, the resentment is really coming from me

The part of me that’s been abandoning myself in the name of avoiding being left, being alone.

But the irony is..when I'm busy doing - I feel so alone

And that aloneness I'm realizing is really just because I've abandonded myself

That realization cracked something open

How could I ever truly feel or be alone if I stand by me?

That is the version of me who no longer needs to overfunction to feel loved

And maybe you’ve felt it too—the quiet pressure to make up for what someone else couldn’t (or wouldn’t) bring.
But what if the thing we’re really hungry for isn’t their effort?

It’s our own return to ourselves

In the moments I can feel that disrupt, their absence. I meet myself. I soften

That is the way back to Self

He was doing something that really bothers me. I wanted nothing more then to tell him how pissed off I am, how it’s making me feel and why he shouldn’t be doing it

Instead, I grabbed my journal. Because I could feel my chest start to tense and feel heavy — my cheeks starting to feel hot

I grabbed my journal. It’s not that I won’t say something, it’s that when I do — I want to feel grounded

I wanted to find clarity so I can respond with intention

This time, it felt very hard to not say anything

Then, as I was journaling - he made a comment (hindsight, it was likely innocent) and one thing led to another

There was me, journaling. Trying to make sense of this fury I felt inside so I could articulate it without completely blowing up

I failed. I made a couple comments🤦🏻‍♀️

Not going to lie, part of me wanted to keep saying all the things. But instead, I got up and walked away to cool down

I ended up apologizing — even though a part of me thought was complete bullshit and felt very right in saying the things we did

But deep down I know, me responding from this place — feeds the drama to perpetuate and continue

It feeds the disconnect and tension that is already happening

It feeds the disrupt I feel inside

If I want to break this pattern, whether I think it’s his behavior or not, it’s evolking an emotional reaction in me.

Which means, it’s part of my pattern too

And if I want him to change, I can start by changing the pattern within me

And I’ll do that by focusing on regulating my emotional pattern in the heat of it around his behavior

The moment I do that, the moment I interact with it differently and feed an entirely new outcome

One rooted in the new emotional pattern

One that feeds connection, not chaos

And the moment he will too🌱
